Hello lovelies, I’m here with another sneak peek into my makeup drawer with my massive mascara collection ranging from essence to Make Up For Ever and everything in between. Let’s get started!
Starting from the top center clockwise (the blue one), there’s Maybelline the Rocket, essence LASH mania reloaded, Calvin Klein one, e.l.f. Volume Plumping, Make Up For Ever, Mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon 24 hour, tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes, Clinique high impact, Rimmel Lash Accelerator, Covergirl Full Lash bloom, and Maybelline Lash Sensational. As you can see, I have a lot of mascaras and I’m trying to sort out which ones I like the best. I am all about the brush so prepare yourself for a lot about mascara brushes.
Maybelline the Rocket: This has one of my favorite brushes ever. It really makes my lashes thick, dark, and long. The brush has short plastic bristles which get the roots of my lashes really thick. This has been a long-time favorite of mine and will continue to be my everyday. I mentioned this mascara in my makeup bag post here and here in my Date Night Makeup.
essence LASH mania reloaded: This mascara has a really unique brush, it is straight, not curved or thicker in any way. It is nice for coating all my lashes really well. This formula doesn’t make my lashes all crispy like some do, they’re soft and the mascara is easy to remove. This mascara also passes the test with my mom aka the most picky mascara user on the planet which is saying a lot. I mentioned it in my most recent favorites here and my spotlight on essence cosmetics here.
Calvin Klein one: This mascara has a really interesting brush. When you twist the cap, the brush twists to give your lashes more curl and untwist it to give more volume. I always start with untwisted then continue to twist it after because it seems to hold a curl better this way since I don’t use a lash curler. I got this free at Ulta for my birthday last year but haven’t got it into regular rotation yet.
e.l.f. Volume Plumping: This mascara has an enormous brush which is insane but gives my lashes great volume. I love the simple packaging that e.l.f. uses, it shows how the brand puts more effort into their product than fancy packaging. I got this in one of my first e.l.f. beauty bundles which are amazing so you should google them and take a look.
Make Up For Ever: The brush on this is the coolest thing I have ever seen. It’s a cone so you get great length for your lashes and perfect for where they are on your eye. (rephrase: you get super long lashes near the outer corner and less long on the inner corners which is mega flattering) To give some perspective, the brush is basically as long as the tube so it fits your whole eye at once. I got this in a free birthday gift at Sephora which was this and a teeny lipstick!
mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon 24 hour: Although I have never had a time when I need mascara to stay on for 24 hours, I use this when I need my mascara to stay on through heat, sweat and/ or possible tears. And boy, does this do the trick. During concerts there is zero panda eyes, days at the beach there’s no smudging, crying of laughter ends in zero mascara waterfalls. The brush is a bit wimpy, it’s curled but very thin. I got this in my November Birchbox which I loved.
tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes: This mascara is great because it is good ingredients and a great brand that I trust 100%. This is a very famous mascara *sample* that I got in my tarte advent calendar which was great. Because this bottle is so thin, it’s easy to throw in a small clutch for flawless touch ups throughout the night.
Clinique high impact: I haven’t really gotten the chance to use this mascara all too much but from what I have gathered I really like it. I got this in a free gift when I bought a chubby stick (by the way those are super nice). Clinique has been one of my favorite makeup brands of all time and I honestly think it’s an amazing brand. This mascara has a really dark color and a really thick brush. LOVE
Rimmel Lash Accelerator: This mascara has ingredients that help grow back your lashes which I need because my lashes fall out way too much (if you know why, help a girl out). It also gives me great natural lashes with lots of volume and length. I got this in my Walmart Box after I’ve been wanting it for a while.
Covergirl Lash Bloom: This waterproof mascara doesn’t smudge with water and doesn’t give me crispy lashes like some waterproof formulas do. This brush is also straight and not curved or anything special so it’s easy to get the bottom lashes evenly coated. I mentioned it in my January Obsessions here.
Maybelline Lash sensational: This is supposed to be the big benefit roller lash dupe but I am not a fan. It is way too clumpy and goopy for me. I have to wipe the brush off a decent amount before I can put it anywhere near my eyes or it gets on my nose, eyelids, under eyes, EVERYWHERE. Not a fan and will not be repurchasing.
Well, that’s all of my mascaras! I have gotten quite the collection but I will be throwing a few out soon because of how old they are (believe it or not, I think one or two are going on a year. Yikes). I think my favorites are Rimmel Lash Accelerator and Maybelline Rocket. Those two have great brushes, volume, and staying power what else could a girl ask for?
Let me know your top mascaras!
