I was so excited to get my June box and for Birchbox to redeem itself after last month’s terrible box. Nothing really matched me but this month I have faith that it will be better.
My Box:
This month’s box was all about summer vacation and travel. From the way it looks from the top, it looks pretty good to me!
What’s Inside:
Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser Kit
Sample Size: 1 fl oz Value: $6.50
I love hot cloth cleansers because the cleanser is usually a cooling cleanser and the hot cloth really penetrates into your pores and this one felt so nice, being all natural. I could feel that it was good for my skin The sample was a very good size and I liked that I got the re-useable cloth with it.
Antica Farmacista Body Wash
Sample Size: ~2 fl oz Value: $5.00
I love this body wash, it lathers beautifully and although it is made with almond oil, it smelled like tea to me. I loved the scent and the bottle was cute enough to display in my bedroom on my new makeup board.
Cynthia Rowley Lip Stain in Sugar
Sample Size: 0.079 oz Value: $9.30
As you can see it was very shiny lip stain which I don’t like. Shiny lip stains never stay on very well and they also are too sticky for me. The color was nice, it almost matched my natural color. I was not a fan of this and when I saw that it was available to get as a bonus sample in my Birchbox for July, I said no thank you and chose a surprise sample.
Egyptian Magic
Sample Size: 0.25 fl oz Value: $3.25
It smells very natural almost like an unscented natural lip balm. The texture is very thick and balmy but not gooey (like honey) at all. I handed this off to my sister and it is her favorite beauty product, she uses it in her hair all the time!
Miss Jessie’s Original MultiCultural Curls
Sample Size: 1 fl oz Value: $1.88
After this amazing box I was disappointed I got this, 1) It is for multicultural hair, which mine is not and 2) it is in a foil packet. BIRCHBOX! You were doing so well this time! There is always one sample that isn’t quite spot on but the rest were amazing so I can deal. My sister ended up using it (on her non-multicultural hair) as a hair mask that she puts in dry hair to make it shinier (like Blake Lively does). The sample is actually huge I just wish it was in a container of some sort.
Total Value: $25.93
- Hot Cloth Cleanser – $6.50
- Body Wash – $5.00
- Lip Stain – $9.30
- Egyptian Magic – $3.25
- MultiCultural Curls – $1.88
Overall, I loved the June Birchbox! I still use the lip stain even though it isn’t my favorite. I love everything else a lot though! The total value of this box was over double the $10 that I paid. I also get half of that back in points each month by reviewing the samples that I get. Click here to get a Birchbox with no wait!
