Although it says “4 Years of Born To Be Bright” I used to have an old name to my blog and things were much different.  My blog was started back in 2013 on August 23rd (probably, I can’t remember the exact date sadly), and let me tell you: I felt horrible when I suddenly woke up at the crack of dawn one day saying “Oh My God I forgot my blogiversary”.  I had it all planned, I bought balloons and sparkly stars and I planned to buy a cupcake for myself but then I just completely forgot.  August was such a whirlwind that time went way too fast and this is the first chance I have had to sit down and write this.

4 years is a long time to stick with a hobby like this.  I mean, I have no outside motivation other than my lovely readers.  I don’t depend on this for a paycheck, I don’t have a coach or teammates holding me accountable.  I do this because I love it and that’s really special to me.  I have gained a lot of confidence through blogging, in the beginning I would rarely even comment on other blogs because I was so shy and now I love commenting on blogs and making new friends.  It also translates into “real life”, I’m coming out of my shell a lot and it feels so good.  I’ve found things that make me happy and developed new goals and aspirations.

One of the most important things I’ve learned by watching YouTubers and seeing bloggers grow is that it is possible to find a job you truly love.  A main goal of mine in life has always been to be happy in my work, and whether it’s this or something completely different, I know it’s possible.  And blogging is a lot of hard work, time, and money.  My blog also taught me how to use my time well, taking blog photos early in the morning on weekends before I go for coffee with my dad to make sure I have enough pictures for the week.  Another huge lesson I learned is how to save money and work toward a financial goal.  Paying for my blog theme and my web hosting was a pretty decent investment for me but it taught me that you need to let the latest beauty launches go in order to pay for what needs to be paid for.

Blogging has taught me so many lessons and helped me grow a lot in so many aspects of my life, everything from my photography and my vocabulary, to savings goals and time management.  I am forever grateful for this hobby and everything I have accomplished with it and through it.  I am so proud of how far I have come and I can’t wait for what is to come in the future.

Cheers to going on 5 years!
