Hello lovelies, if you’re anything like me, you love peeking inside other people’s makeup bags and collections. I hope you are because over the next few weeks you’ll get to see basically my entire makeup collection separated into chunks, this week is foundation. Because why not start with the base?
First up there’s the Pür Liquid Veil Spray Foundation. This is the lightest shade (Light) but is still a little dark for my Winter skin so I usually dot it on my cheeks and forehead and blend out to the rest of my face to even it out without looking like a mask. This spray foundation is one that you spray on a brush then apply it to your face. This pur one is full of anti-aging and brightening crystals which makes it feel oh-so-luxurious. I have never felt any makeup feel this soft on my skin, it feels like a brand new baby’s skin! There is great coverage but sometimes it isn’t so easy to blend but it’s easy to find what works that day to fix it up.
bareMinerals BareSkin was my treat to myself last year for the new school year. It is a really sheer but incredibly buildable serum foundation. Translation: it looks super natural but still gives the coverage I’m looking for. You only need one or two drops to cover your entire face which is why this is still going strong! If you go to a bare minerals store, you can get matched for free and they are very thorough job with matching me, they used a primer, tested three shades on my jaw, and finished with a powder to see how my skin reacted. I ended up with bare shell 02 which matches perfectly and I love that there is SPF as well.
Rimmel Wake Me Up was on my list for ever but since they don’t sell it anywhere near me or online, I had to go to ebay and get a little size for about $5. This is a half of the regular size but sadly it’s a little light in the shade 100. I use this mostly for an under eye concealer or as primer when I haven’t gotten any sleep because I feel that the anti-fatigue shimmer shows through my foundation and makes me look a little more awake.
Rimmel Match Perfection is probably my favorite foundation I’ve tried. For some really weird reason I love the smell(?). But there are all sorts of undertones and shades to get the perfect match for your skin (hence, match perfection). This one is 120 Ivory which has a neutral undertone and matches perfectly. It blends perfectly and is definitely my go-to foundation. This apples amazingly with my fingers, a brush, or a sponge. It seems to have pretty good staying power which is greatly appreciated as well as the SPF.
Lastly is the L’Oreal true match in n2. This is, again a little light but works great as a primer to really get good coverage when i need it. I love that there’s SPF but I felt that the shade range, despite the true match thing, wasn’t that great. None of them really matched but me being stubborn had to try it even though I knew it was the wrong shade. What a waste of $10, but I’ll find more ways to use it.
These are my foundations, and my opinions on them. Do you have any recommendations or comments? Let me know!
